Water from a leaking shower hasfound its way through the bath seal and is leaking downstairs light fitting?

advice please!Water from a leaking shower hasfound its way through the bath seal and is leaking downstairs light fitting?
Turn off the light sockets, should be a fuse in the box, before they short out or explode. Then if you know an electrician get them to take a look, or just wait until you're sure its dry before using it again. You can buy sealant from diy stores, get some and go over the seal on the bath to make sure it doesn't happen again.Water from a leaking shower hasfound its way through the bath seal and is leaking downstairs light fitting?
If you can;t fix your shower leak, you probably need to replace the whole unit. If it's an electric shower this legally has to be done by a qualified electrician, though it's actually not a difficult DIY job. If the shower runs from the bath, it's a plumbing job and you can almost certainly do this with compression fittings, some PTFE tape and a couple of adjustable spanners (all available from any DIY store).

You also need to replace the sealant around your bath - this is straightforward. The light fitting may also need replacing if corroded - again, a simple job. But turn off the electricity at the fusebox before attempting any such work.
what do you mean by bath seal? a pipe or the sealent around the tray? if it is the sealant around the bath tray ideally it needs to be stripped and redone completely.

silicone sealent can be purchased from B%26amp;Q or wickes to go it properly you need to ensure the are to be sealed is 100% dry if in doubt get someone to do it

it its one of the pipes get a plumber to redo the joint

as for the light best advice would be to isolate the power supply and let it dry .
have a plumber clear the leak a.s.a.p. and don't use the lights down stairs until all dry.and if i was you would get some one who is qualified in electrics to check your fittings
Fittings will dry out,Don't go over old seal with new remove all old seal clean down and seal again.
