Why a person can be electrocuted when taking a bath and touching a poorly insulated light switch?

You've been watching too much stuff from Hollywood. That is an urban myth. Why a person can be electrocuted when taking a bath and touching a poorly insulated light switch?
You don't even have to be taking a bath to be electrocuted by touching a poorly insulated light switch or wire. For instance if you happen to accidentally touch one with a good conduit like a metal object you can easily get hit. touching a bare wire with your hands will also give you a shock even without a 3rd party conductor. Water is a good conductor of electricity. However I will say that the chance is a little more rare than what you might believe. Most modern homes are equipped with breakers which are designed to cut the supply of electricity in such a situation. Most of the time, a bad wire, outlet, switch is enough to kick the breaker and interrupt the flow of electricity even before you would ever be in the position of getting zapped. In some cases it has not taken very high electrical current to cause death. Most electrocution deaths come from Ventricular fibrilation of the heart or from arc flashes. In the United States the standard electrical outlet is 120 volts which is well within the potential fatal range according to Ohms law, however just touching a poorly insulated switch in and of itself does not determine how much electrical current a human will pull, there are certain other factors like differences in conduction of skin, tissue, and what outside factors are present such as conductors which could draw in more current like metal objects, water etc.

All in all it is just not a good idea to touch a poorly insulated light when taking a bath. 9 out of ten times you probably might be safe, or either you might get a decent shock but not enough to kill you. But with electricity all it takes is that one time. Why a person can be electrocuted when taking a bath and touching a poorly insulated light switch?
Because water is an exelent conductor of electricity, so if you touch an electrical source, you create a circut with your body, and you get electrocuted!
I don't believe this old tale, why I always shower and turn on the ligh......ZZZZZZAAAAAAPPPPP!!!!, SSSIIZZZZLLLLLE........
Because you are grounded in some manner, allowing the electricity to go through you to another thing.
water and electricity never should mix. Basic physics
You can get electrocuted because:

Bath tub(taking a shower): When the electrons meet they want to take up as much space as possible so that result is it shocking you.

Light Switch: You will get electrocuted because the electrons are flying all over the place. its happened to me.
